Choosing a Gift: For a Colleague, an Elder, or Yourself
Why a stone is a good gift
It is personal without being intimate, it does not expire, it has no size problem if you pick a desk piece, and it costs what you decide it costs. It also does not require the recipient to believe anything.
For a colleague or a client
Go for a desk object, not something worn. A clear quartz point or a small cluster sits on a desk without implying anything about the person.
Keep the note factual: what the stone is, where it came from, that it is natural and hand-picked. Skip anything that sounds like a wish for their charm — in a work context it lands awkwardly.
Safe picks: clear quartz point, amethyst cluster, ceramic aroma holder.
For an elder
Elders in Chinese-speaking families often already have opinions about stones, and those opinions are usually about material and colour rather than trend. Warm and traditional reads better than modern and minimal.
Copper, sandalwood and yellow-brown stones are familiar and welcome. A copper ornament on a shelf, a red sandalwood long strand for the hand, a smoky quartz or tiger's eye bracelet in a larger bead size.
Avoid: anything that needs explaining, anything very small, anything black if you are unsure — colour preferences among older relatives can be strong.
For a partner or close friend
This is where you can be specific. Match their actual palette — what they wear, what their desk looks like. Rose quartz and moonstone for someone who wears soft colours; obsidian or smoky quartz for someone who wears black.
If you know their wrist size, order to size. If you do not, order a desk stone instead of guessing.
For yourself
Buy the one you keep coming back to. People who choose by list end up with a stone they respect. People who choose by attraction end up with a stone they look at.
Practical notes
Every piece ships in a cotton pouch with a product card, which is presentable as-is. Ask us on WhatsApp for a handwritten note and we will add one. Tell us if it ships directly to the recipient — we will leave out anything that looks like an invoice.
